Sargent Controls and Aerospace reports to Sargent, who is a premier global supplier of custom engineered, high quality products to the Aerospace and Defense Industries. Sargent is comprised of six specialized business units and operates seven facilities located throughout North America. These product lines are organized into two structural divisions within Sargent: Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) Products, and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Services. Sargent Controls & Aerospace (SCA), Kahr Bearing, Airtomic, Sargent Aerospace, Canada (SAC) and Sonic Industries are the OEM Products Division business units, while Sargent Avborne is the focal point for Sargent’s MRO Services Division.
Sargent Controls & Aerospace has been a leading supplier of hydraulic power components for over 80 years. From its roots as a family owned oil control valve engineering company in 1920, Sargent has grown into a premier supplier of highly engineered products in niche industries.
Sargent first established itself in the aerospace industry in the 1930’s and expanded rapidly in support of the allied war effort. While continuing to support military aviation, Sargent benefited from the emergence of the commercial airline industry in the 50’s and 60’s.
Today Sargent is a key supplier on Boeing commercial aircraft as well as many military programs. Sargent became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV) in 1985.
